Position: WINGER/STRIKER

1. How old were you when you started Powerchair football, and what got you into the sport?

I was about 13 when I first started playing. I began at Bolton Bullets after going to a trial session, I’d always wanted to get into a sport, and when I found out Powerchair football existed, I knew I had to try it. A friend of mine, who was playing for Sale United at the time (now Altrincham PFC), recommended I move over and join their development squad. I did, and honestly, I haven’t looked back since. What’s funny is that I wasn’t even a big football fan at first. But after going to the England semi‑final at the Euros, I completely fell in love with the sport. That experience, combined with finding a team where I felt like I belonged, is what really pulled me into Powerchair football.

2. What do you love most about Powerchair football?

I love the social side of it — it’s so nice being around other disabled people who just get it. Powerchair football has given me the chance to be part of a sport I never thought I’d be able to play. Growing up, I was always upset that I couldn’t join in with my classmates, so finally being part of a proper football team means a lot.I also coach the development squad now, which is something I genuinely love. Helping people has always been a big passion of mine, so coaching lets me give back, support new players, and do something I’m truly passionate about. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of being involved in the sport.
